Whether you are an expert golfer or a beginner, it should be quite clear to you that hitting a golf ball is the most crucial part of this game. In fact, this activity is what makes this game enjoyable when playing. You need to learn how to hit a golf ball properly if you wish to earn more points as you continue playing this game. The following are the basic steps that should be followed when hitting a golf ball properly for the best results. Always remember that anyone can hit a golf ball but on the other hand, not everyone is able to direct the ball to the right destination.
Posture
It is common logic that you should stand behind the golf ball as you aim your target. At this stage, mark a point behind the golf ball. Make sure that you take a firm grip of the golf club to avoid accidental slips as you swing it. Also make sure you stand facing the golf ball as you aim the target.
Your feet
After you have established your target and you are sure that you have a firm grip of the golf club, take a slight step forward with the left foot. After that, also take a step backwards using your right foot. Confirm the distance in between your feet. It should be around the same distance between your right and left shoulder.
Club face angle
Check how the club face has been positioned. Always keep in mind that when the club face hits the ball at the center, the ball will go far and straight. But on the other hand, when the club face hits the ball at other parts, the ball will go astray thus failing to meet the target. It is therefore advisable to make sure that your golf club and the ball are positioned properly. The golf club face should aim at the center of the golf ball.
Body weight
When hitting a golf ball, make sure you are flexible enough. Your knees should bend slightly and also lean forward. Your hands should be positioned right in front of you and make sure that your eyes are fixed on the ball and the golf club. Just a reminder, your eyes should concentrate on the hind part of the golf ball and not the top part it.
Swing
Now you are ready to hit the ball with the golf club. As you perform the back swing, always make sure that the whole body swings too and not just some parts. It is important to move the hips and shoulder too. But on the other hand, your feet should not move at all. Raise the golf club upwards and let your shoulders turn until your back faces your preferred target. Now, swing the club downwards with high force and speed and let the club face hit the ball hard. This is done if you want the club to travel a longer distance. After this hitting a golf ball, make sure that you follow the ball with your eyes as it travels though the air. At this stage, your rear foot might be raised above the ground as a result of the exerted force.
