Golf hints

English: Fairway wood positioned near golf ball

Are you a golfer looking for a few golf hints and tips to help lower your score on the links? If so I might be able to help you out with the following golfing advice. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Nothing about golfing is more fundamental than the stance a golfer uses. When addressing the ball before the swings relax your body. Flex at the knees and bend slightly in the middle of the body. Use this procedure for any tee shot, fairway swing, and chipping. Your shoulder facing the golf ball will be slightly higher than the other when in the proper stance. When you position yourself for the swing, think of the ground as a slick sheet of ice. This one simple golf tip will help you remember to always think of being balanced before the actual swing. Don’t get all tightened up to the point that you look like stiff oak board. Relax.

Another of the many golf hints I have received over my years of golfing is to imagine where I want the ball to finally come to rest. The golf pro at my home course told me several great golf hints to improve my game. Not because I was special. His son and I were the same age, good friends, and played a lot of golf together. He once told me to not take the shotgun approach to where I wanted the ball to end up but instead use the sniper approach. Pick a specific target and try to put my shot there. It has helped my game considerably, and the more I focused on this one golf tip the lower my scores became.

One area of the golf game so many golfers either ignore or over emphasize is how to properly grip a club. It is not all that complicated but can have very dramatic effects on how well you play the game. Assuming the club has a good quality and tight grip, concentrate on always using the same grip that is most comfortable for you. Make sure you can see one and a half to two knuckles of you left hand regardless of the club being used. This golf hints tip is for the right handed golfer, but also applies to lefties, only it is the right hand knuckles they will want to see. Keep the grip on the club relaxed but firm.

Another of the golf hints I have picked up over the years is to bend your elbows in a relaxed manner. Lock up the elbows and the golf ball is going to head for regions unknown! Keeping your chin up during the swing does two important tasks. It will allow the shoulders to move freely through the swing and keep your head and eyes still while staying focused on hitting the ball squarely.

Another of the golf hints to improve your game is to remember it is only a game. We all want to play well but getting upset over bad shot only results to worse play. Try these golf hints and have fun!
